The text tool lets you create and edit
text objects on a scene. To create a text object, click the text
icon and then click on the scene where you want the text to appear
and start typing. To edit the text later, simply double-click the
text object.
A text object has two different 'modes': normal
and running text. When first created, the text
object will be 'Normal'. In this mode, the text will be scaled when
you scale-resize it. This mode is suitable for headers, menu items
etc. The 'Running Text' option is best suitable for longer texts.
When resizing the text object in this mode, the text field will
reveal or hide the text, depending on its size. A small icon will
be visible, indicating that there is hidden text.
You can toggle between the modes using the 'Running Text'
checkbox in the settings panel for the text object. Note that when
changing between the modes, some text settings could be lost.
If the text object's font is set to a
_sans-type font you can't rotate the object. This
applies to all other objects that use _sans-type fonts.
You can change the properties of the text field in the
corresponding settings panel. Select the text field to change
properties for the entire text, and select specific parts of the
text to change its properties.
