Introduction
Actions are one of the most important aspects of Yooba Studio.
They are used for making different things happen, either through an
interaction by the visitor, such as a click on an object, or
automatically. There are many sorts of actions, where some of them
are switching scene, starting and stopping a movie, downloading a
file and so on. Actions are used for most interactions in a
project. You set the actions via the dialogue box 'Action
Settings', which is available for most types of object.
Most types of object can have an action that runs when the
visitor clicks on it, but there are also objects that run their
actions at other times. For example, the movie player can run an
action when it has reached the end of the footage. Actions can also
be run when the mouse pointer is moved over or away from an
object.
Changing scene
One of the most
common types of action is for navigating between all the different
scenes in a project:
- Select the object you want to use. Note the dialogue box
Action Settings.
- Click on Add Click Action and choose
Scene Actions and Go to Scene 2
(or any other scene you have in your project).
- Now when the user clicks on the object, the chosen scene will
be shown.
All actions mostly works the same way: you select the object you
want to trigger the action from, you select an action from the
pop-out menu and finally make settings for the selected action.
Several actions can be set and will run at once.
Sub scene Actions
Navigation between sub scenes is the same way as between regular
scenes, but with the Sub scene Actions instead of
Scene Actions. A sub scene can be shown directly by its main scene,
or from another scene via the main scene.
